How Do YOU Apply to B&G?

 

BLUE AND GOLD SCHOLARSHIPS 

 

 

All Hackensack High School students can apply for

 

BLUE AND GOLD SCHOLARSHIPS... 

 

 

APPLICATION PROCESS:

 

Students must complete the B&G application

(available in the Guidance Office) to demonstrate:

 

  • Financial need.

 

  • Why they do not qualify for the Educational Opportunity Program or Fund (EOP/EOF).

 

  • A solid record of academic achievement.

 

  • Acceptance to college or a technical or vocational program.

 

 

Along with the application, students must submit:

 

  • A typed essay describing their reasons for wanting and needing a  B&Scholarship.

  • An official HHS transcript.

  • One letter of recommendation from an HHS teacher, counselor or administrator.

  • One letter of recommendation from a non-HHS source, but not from a relative.

     

Application and supporting material are submitted to the Guidance Office before April 15th.

 

 

SELECTION PROCESS:

 

 

  • The BLUE AND GOLD SCHOLARSHIP Committee reviews applications and supporting material and chooses recipients.

     

  • BLUE AND GOLD SCHOLARSHIP recipients are notified by their Guidance Counselors by May 31st.

     

  • Recipients are given their BLUE AND GOLD SCHOLARSHIPS at the awards assembly in June.
